Until the release of the Naim Uniti it was believed that the best audio systems comprised of separates. Combining everything into one handy unit has always meant a compromise in quality somewhere along the line, but he Naim Uniti changes that.
To say that the Naim Uniti is exceptional would not be doing the Naim Uniti justice. It is actually a revolution in Hi-Fi engineering, and offers a spectacular performance across the board. The Naim Uniti combines the excellent quality for which Naim is famed, so you can rely on an intuitive design, precision engineering, the highest quality components and a sound which is pure Naim, all encased in a heavy-duty Naim enclosure.
The Naim Uniti doesn't give you the exact same quality as buying Naim separates, but the difference would be considered to be marginal by all but the most discerning audiophile, and compared to most home Hi-Fi systems the Naim Uniti represents a considerable improvement, as well cutting down on the space required to house your system.
The range of features that the Naim Unity offers is all you are likely to require from a Hi-Fi system. It gives you an internal Nait 5i-derived integrated amplifier for an ultra smooth and satisfying sound, which has subtlety and refinement no matter which source you decide to play from. The Naim Uniti features an exceptional CD5i CD player with a swing door CD tray, and is internet enabled with wireless internet functionality for digital audio streaming from a Wi-Fi connected computer or via Network Attached Storage (NAS) units, or for listening to internet radio stations.
If you prefer conventional radio, the Naim Uniti has a FM Tuner and DAB radio functionality. if you like to switch between internet radio, FM and DAB, the presets are not restricted to bandand you can programme DAB radio stations alongside your favourite internet FM stations.
The Naim Uniti includes a CD receiver, and the internal DAC has five inputs including two electrical rear ports, a powered DIN socket for a Naim phono stage, and a combined 3.5mm stereo analogue port on the front. The front USB socket means you can play music directly from a pen drive, and it has iPod / iPhone connectivity with a dedicated n-Link iPod cable port and twin subwoofer preouts.
If you are worried about the Naim Uniti becoming obsolete in a few years, you'll be pleased to hear that it has been designed to allow for easy upgrades, either by combining with other Naim products or with a firmware update via the R232 port in the back.
If you are considering consolidating your Hi-Fi system, it is fair to say that the Naim Uniti is the best combination unit on the market by a considerable distance.
